15 Days Later...

...the big fella gets back to blogging. I have been scolded by a certain McDonald's loving little nerd of a friend in Ohio, through my wife, because I am such a bad blogger. SOOOOOORRRRRRYYYYY!
I have been very busy, not to mention preoccupied. I have literally found it difficult to concentrate on much of anything lately. Too much on my mind, I suppose.
On the upside of that, the whole situation we have going on in the church is driving me to the old prayer closet. I have a favorite quote that I picked up somewhere along the way that says "Trouble and perplexity drive us to pray. Prayer driveth away trouble and perplexity." So it is perfectly natural when troubled and perplexed, as now, to pray. Although the trouble seemingly has not yet left, after a good season of prayer one feels refreshed and able to move on. Maybe the current situation will drive us all to our knees a bit more and help us to draw closer to God. I have dedicated the biggest part of our local church services, at both churches to prayer lately. The troubling thing is that it sometimes seems like pulling teeth to really get folks to get down to business and PRAY! We have become so accustomed to the standard way of conducting services that it can sometimes be hard to break that monotony. At any rate, surely the Lord will help us.
God bless...
Donnie

Hi Sister Katie. Of course I remember you. It's good to find you out here, too. Thanks for the encouraging words. We all need them right now.

Hey chosengeneration...
Sorry, Jared. I forgot you are not a NERD. You are a doofus.

Hey Donnie,

I agree with your assessment of Jared :) But The Donnie I knew growning up is one too :) I have great memories with you and your dad, and my crazy brother in Idaho. :) Good thing you have girls maybe they wont' act as you and my brother and Macy did when they were younger :) We'll have to share some stories with your girls sometime and put ideas in their minds of things they can do at the assembly :) lol

Hey Sister Angie...
I would probably pay someone quite well to not tell my daughters (or anyone else, for that matter), some of the things that Terry, Macy and me did as teenagers. I have some good memories of those days, too. We did do some carrying on back in the Idaho days, too. Fun times. Fun times. Hey, were you with me and Terry that time when we went to the big Easter pageant at some church there in Boise? Something hilarious happened, and I wonder sometimes if I'm dreaming it or if you guys remember it, too. When they served Communion during the intermission, they just passed a loaf of bread and cup of "juice" down each pew. There a a lady a few pewa up who broke off a pretty good handful of bread and stuffed it into her purse to snack on during the remainder of the program. Do you remember this?

I don't believe I was there, but it does seem like I may remember hearing something about it.
