Upcoming Events at The Church of God at Winchester, KY

I realize that most of you out there are far enough away that you can't attend our local events, but here are a couple of things we've got going on that you can help us pray about...
Christmas Eve Service
We'll be having a special Christmas Eve Worship service beginning at 10 AM. It will last until approximately 11:15 AM. The plan as of now is to invite the public. Perhaps there will be some whose church is not planning a service, and maybe they will attend our service. We plan to have traditional Christmas hymns, read the Christmas story, and I will have a short message.
New Years Weekend
We have Revival scheduled fro Friday December 29, Saturday the 30th, and Sunday the 31st with Bishop David Risch. Sunday night will be a watch-night service to pray in the New Year. He and Sister Risch are always a blessing. They have been with us on New Years two times in the past, and are a wonderful blessing to the local church each time as well as a joy to have in our home. Their experience and wisdom is of great value to The Church of God, and great benefit to a younger pastoral family such as mine.
The Church of God at Winchester, KY First Annual Coat Drive
We've been working on this already for about a month and a half, but it is still in progress. Brother Terry Flora got in touch with the Family Resource Center at his sons school in Winchester, and they have many kids who come to school without a coat to wear. We are working to provide coats to help them supply for the children. We are also gathering adult sized coats and taking them to another place.
Free Hot Chocolate and Coffee at Local Christmas Parade
This has actually already happened. Last Saturday night we offered free hot chocolate and coffe to the people attending the local parade. The parade was great fun, but the best blessing was that we were able to serve over 120 cups of hot chocolate, and thirty or more cups of coffe. Plus I had a pocket full of candy canes for the young kids. And we had some cupcakes to hand out. People were so pleased that we were doing this as a service, and not for a profit like some others. The next day we had two visitors as a result. Plus two others who happened in from down the street. Such a blessing.
More later...
God bles,
Brother Donnie

Hi, Brother Donnie. I love your new profile photo! LOL! It's great!

I'm so happy to hear about your upcoming plans for your local church. God bless you guys.

I join your excitement over the new web site. We got word today that just in the past week we've been viewed by people in 30 nations and 44 US states! There have been nearly 1000 different computers access our site in just a few days time. It's thrilling! We still are working on the site, but Brother Grayson has been a TREMENDOUS blessing to the Church to do all this work, along with some help from others. THANK THE LORD!

Hey, Sister Smith. The new site is looking great. I'm glad it's making an impact. We've seen how damaging the internet can be, so I want us to use it for good things.
